Message from the President
Dear Members, GHCTA Supporters and Horse Devotees,
Spring is upon us and I feel a newness in the air. It is with great enthusiasm that I accept the position of GHCTA President. We have put into place a wonderful Board with some new faces that are eager and committed to making GHCTA a fantastic organization to be a member of. Your Board also has some very experienced members that make our sport what it is. Rest assured GHCTA is in good hands and together we will have a fantastic year. Our goals for 2012 will be to increase our membership (so join now) and offer you a calendar full of fun events, shows and clinics enough to keep you busy. We will have educational opportunities, and along the way host a few unique social events so we all can get to know each other a little better. Already we are kicking around some fun new ideas that I think you will be surprised about!
As your Board, we are so happy to see the many new riders signing up to compete at our sponsored shows. We know the sport will continue to flourish with all these new faces, and we wholeheartedly are committed to making it a good experience for you. At the top level we want to become a presence in Area 5 and I think we have the talent and drive to do it. At a more local level, we want to offer our new and young members well run shows/events so you can come out and enjoy putting you skills to the test. We are behind you and encourage your participation!
To better serve you, our first goal was to create a website that you all can depend on for up-to-date and timely information. We have been working on this for the past several months and we want you to know this new site will be a place to visit often. We encourage total participation on your part, so send us information about upcoming events, items you might want to sell, photos of you and your horse. We want to see it all. It will be through this website and our new facebook site, that our GHCTA community will begin to flourish. I do encourage you to participate as much as you can.
We can't wait to see you all on April 14th at the Pine Hill Spring Horse Trials. As always, Ruth Sawin will put on a wonderful event and we encourage you all to come out and ride. This will be the first time you will have the opportunity to try out her newly designed course. We think you will be delighted and challenged. Be sure to become a member of GHCTA before you compete so that we can keep track of all your points for year-end awards! The link is listed up on top under FORMS.
I am looking forward to hearing from each of you on what you think we can do to make this organization better. I am at your disposal, so please email me anytime.
Happy Riding,
Luann McElduff
